As we'd already experienced, we've had a bit of a funny old season this year. We've had race cancellations, post-ponements, a couple of accidents, severe smoke haze, localised flooding, and now we're all dealing with the impacts of a global pandemic in our own backyard. With the recent cancellation of IM/70.3, it perhaps comes as no surprise that Triathlon Australia has cancelled all other events up until 30th April in light of the COVID-19 situation. That cancellation now also includes any community or Club events which required sanctioning by the governing body - so yes, all our remaining Club races up to 30th April have been cancelled by TA as well.
We're sorry to pass on the news that we will very unlikely be racing our PMTC club races again for season 2019/20. While we do have Race 10 set down for the 17th May and Club Champs is then scheduled for the weekend after, we're not anticipating that either of these events will be going ahead at this stage. We can certainly be optimistic of a faster turn-around, or some positive results from this social distancing which may allow TA to review their strategy after 30th April, and we'll certainly keep you advised of any developments.
