So obviously it’s been a long while since we’ve been in touch. It seems that covid-19 has disrupted every corner of our lives, and that includes our training habits and social release we get with the sport of triathlon.
For current TA members, you’d have received various updates from the national &/or state body over the past few weeks. One of which has been an indication that formal race sanctioning is likely to be re-issued for races & events from the 1st July. For us, that means our previously approved Duathlons for the end of July & August can potentially proceed, and we are planning on that occurring.
Our duathlons will thus just comprise a 2-race series this year. But given the circumstances all national sports were facing only a few weeks ago, we’ll just be glad to be back at our McInherney course.
As per previous seasons, we’ll encourage any non-members to race our duathlons with a $10 entry fee per race. But more excitingly, we’re hoping we can even encourage them to sign up as full members altogether.
In that regard, the committee has made the decision to drastically reduce our annual membership fees for next season. This has been done in recognition of the particularly disappointing season we had in 2019/20, the sponsorship dollars we received and which were only partially used, and the desire to encourage people back into organised sport.
To that end, PMTC club fees for season 2020/21 are:
For those who’ve already renewed for season 2020/21 and have paid at last season’s fees, just email us here and we’ll arrange a reimbursement.
While TriNSW membership still needs to be taken out with your club membership, we can also advise that TA have endorsed a 5% reduction in your state-based TriNSW membership fees. This is obviously a very minor reduction, and in recognition of that and the potential financial hardships many have faced during the start of 2020, TriNSW are encouraging anyone with genuine cases of financial stress to contact them directly to discuss a partial subsidy on their TriNSW membership fees. These requests will all be dealt with in strictest confidence, and won’t be recorded by PMTC in any way.
